69th Independence Day And 20th Annual Sports Day Celebrations

“It’s a home coming for me!” said Poornima V Sridhar, the Chief Guest of the 69th Independence Day and 20th Annual Sports Day celebrations at Shri Natesan Vidysala MHSS., Mannivakkam, blinking back her tears.

The former student of Shri Natesan Vidyasala, Poornima, presently the Asst. Professor, Dept of Computational Engineering, Sastra University, Tanjoor, author for several Computer Science books for children, in her emotional speech, ran down the memory lane and mentioned the significant role played her Alma mater in molding her into what she is today.

In her Chief Guest address, Poornima, spoke about the need to have sound body, healthy and patriotic mind, which she said, alone would make the healthy citizen for the country. She also added that Yoga is indispensable and should be the integral part of the curriculum.

Dr N Ramasubramanyan, founder of the school, in his special address said that the need of the hour is good educated society with impeccable character and integrity.

The students presented a colorful show on the theme “Sound soul dwells within sound body and mind.” The Karate demonstration by the students left the audience spell bound.

Poornima, gave away the prizes for the winners in several sports and game events organised by the school. Mother Theresa group bagged the winner’s trophy while the Annie Besant team bagged the runners trophy.

Earlier, Mrs. Pratima Viswanathan, Executive Vice Principal, welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Uma Gurumurthy, Vice Principal (Primary Wing), proposed a vote of thanks.
